This shirt belonged to Bram de Waard, in the Tour of California he was riding in 2nd place in the peloton when the rider in front of him got a food bag in his wheel. In the fall that resulted, Bram broke his elbow.

In the hospital the shirt was cut open (which explains the many safety pins in the shirt) to help Bram. He suffered from his elbow for a long time and was never able to fully straighten his arm again.
