Frank van Veenendaal rode for the Belgian SAXON in 1995.

At the beginning of the season he had agreed with the team management that he could start in the Tour of the Netherlands in the so-called Mixed Team led by Gerrie Knetemann.

In August he was still forbidden to do so, but despite warnings from his team leader about the consequences, Frank van Veenendaal still started in Gerrie Knetemann's Mixed team.

He was fired from the Belgian Saxon team, Frank van Veenendaal was not really impressed because he said, If I would work at McDonalds for 1 year I would earn more.

However, he was immediately contracted by Henk Glaudemans of TULIP IN until January 1 as an individual professional.
