American Eagle was a well-known mountain bike brand that was involved in professional cycling in the 1990s. The team gained fame mainly because Bart Brentjens, one of the most successful Dutch mountain bikers, rode for them from 1991-1996. Brentjens won the first gold medal in mountain biking at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
