After a major argument between Peter Post and Jan Raas at the TI RALEIGH team, Jan Raas decides to set up his own team with KWANTUM HALLEN as the main sponsor. Jan Raas starts out as a rider, but after a heavy crash in Milan-San Remo, he decides later that year to become Team Manager of the KWANTUM HALLEN team.
This is the start of a team that still rides in the peloton under various sponsor names (Visma-Lease a bike 2024).
