At the end of 2002, the arrival of the new REMAX-MASSI team was announced.

Jeroen Blijlevens, Fulco van Gullik, Jans Koerts and Max van Heeswijk, among others, were mentioned as riders who would come to REMAX-MASSI.

However, these big names did not come, but 7 Belgians, 2 Dutch and 1 Latvian did.

However, the UCI refused to issue a license, which ultimately meant that Rund um Koln was only held in Germany. When MASSI later withdrew, it was the end of the story.
